ALPHAMEGA RUN AS ONE consists of a set of races that have been held in Nicosia over the last four years. The initiative is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility program “Child, Nutrition & Health” of ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets. The participation and support of people to the event encouraged the Hypermarkets to plan the race this year, as well, despite the difficult times we are going through and to organize ALPHAMEGA VIRTUAL RUN AS ONE 2020, inviting runners from every part of Cyprus.
Participation fee is €5 for the race’s individual runs and €100 for the 5K Corporate Run. Kids up to 12 years old participated in 1K Fun Run for free.
As an establishment, the marathon promotes athleticism, drive, determination, collective efficacy. Beyond its racing character, it carries a historical and cultural identity that links modern times with the values of classic sport.
Through the CSR program “Child, Nutrition & Health” ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets are organizing RUN AS ONE running race for the fifth consecutive year, with the aim to promoting proper nutrition habits and a healthier lifestyle and well-being for all children. This year the race will be held virtually and will host participants from all over Cyprus.
RUN AS ONE is addressed to everyone and its main purpose is to raise awareness among parents and children about nutrition, health and exercise issues. At RUN AS ONE, we run for our children, we run with our children, to set a good example and to learn about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
This October we run at the local park, by the sea, on a treadmill or anywhere else we like! We continue supporting sports spirit, we continue running for a great purpose!
Let’s run apart together virtually!
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
All proceeds from the event will go to the Corporate Social Responsibility Program of ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets, called “Child, Nutrition and Health”, through which children aged 9-12 are able to get a personalized plan of healthy and balanced nutrition. The program is implemented with the support of the Cyprus Dietetic & Nutrition Association. More than 2,000 children each year have the chance to visit one of the approved members of the Association free of charge, while being given the opportunity to be weighed for free for one month in order to check the progress of their diet.
